Grants
and funding
Money raised by the NC Foothills Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is used largely to support breast cancer/breast health initiatives in our three county service area: Caldwell, Catawba, and Burke Counties. Up to 75% of the money raised in this area stays here and is granted out to local non-profit entities through STEP (Screening, Treatment, Educational Programs) Grants. Approximately 25% of the money goes to Komen National to fund Breast Cancer Research Grants. No money raised in this area goes to salaries here or at Komen National.
