Cento Latino will offer two (2) screenings through the mobile mammography unit of Catawba Valley Medical Center, on-site at our office, during 2009 for our clients. By offering this service on-site, we can assist in educating and registering clients who may otherwise never seek out these services due to language barriers, lack of insurance, or simple fear of the procedure due to lack of understanding about its’ purpose. We can offer 20 mammograms per day (one every 15 minutes from 10am to 3:45pm). The cost of the mammograms includes: digital screening mammograms, CAD reading, reading by a radiologist, and written reports sent to each client’s physician. We hope to increase awareness of beast health among Hispanics and an increase in preventative breast health activities (from lectures to screenings).
